The Gap Statement of Faith

GOD: We believe there is only one true God who is the eternal King, Creator and Redeemer of all existing in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is perfectly holy, just, loving and truthful.

BIBLE: We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative, living, eternally reliable Word of God. We believe it’s without error in its original manuscript, absolutely infallible, and our source of supreme revelation from God. It is therefore our infallible rule of faith and practice and necessary to our daily lives.

MAN: We believe humankind was created in the image of God to reflect His character. Yet, in the Fall of mankind through an act of disobedience, sickness, death and judgment (sin) entered the world and now creation experiences the effects and consequences of sin.
(Romans 3:9-12, 5:12, 8:19-22)

JESUS: We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God and lived a sinless life on Earth. He offered himself as the perfect sacrifice to atone for the sins of humanity by dying on a cross then restoring the relationship of humankind to God through resurrection. He is true God and true man.

SALVATION: We believe we are saved by God’s grace, through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ, not by man. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into life by faith.

HOLY SPIRIT: We believe the Holy Spirit, convicts, regenerates, justifies, and adopts us as we enter the Kingdom of God at salvation providing believers the supernatural power for living and understanding spiritual truth and guidance.

THE CHURCH: We believe the Church consists of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ. The Church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, preaching and living the good news of God’s love.
(Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:19-22, 3:10-13)

BAPTISM: We believe baptism is a public declaration that one has accepted Jesus Christ as personal savior. It is not required for salvation but is a biblical command that demonstrates love and obedience to Christ.
(Colossians 2:12; Acts 2:41; Ephesians 2:8-9; Matthew 28:19-20)

HEAVEN AND HELL: We believe heaven and hell are real places. There will be a resurrection of the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting death.
